I wrote this song for Anne knowing that 6 months later she would be experiencing Christmas for the first time alone as a single Mother. While recording this song a very close friend also died and left her husband and a son.
CD: Comfort From A Manger   Label: Heaven Sent Productions

    Story Behind the Song
I met a young women at one of my concerts in Lincoln, NE. She came up and asked me if I would be willing to go to her home and pray with her dying husband. I agreed and met an amazing man and his 3 children. They moved me very much and my life will never be the same. I wrote this song for Anne knowing that 6 months later she would be experiencing Christmas for the first time alone as a single Mother. While recording this song a very close friend also died and left her husband and a son. God has many miracles to work through tough times. My brother will be married to Anne this Sept, and the family that touched my very soul will become mine.

    Lyrics
    Unpacking boxes of Christmas decorations
Memories come flooding back of you
    Snowball fights and sleigh rides
    On a cold winter's night
Warming up by the flicker of the fires light

This year snow if falling just a little deeper
Winter's wind blows cold against my heart
Think about what might have been
And the tears well up again
It's another Christmas without you my friend

*Tonight I'll find my comfort from a manger
While angels sing a sweet lullaby
Yonder shines His star of hope
For all who cling to it's light
Yes, I'll find my comfort from a manger tonight

Quietly I stand by my Christmas tree
Presents wrapped with love as years before
As the twinkle of the lights fall upon
    The manger and nativity
Just like the shepherds I fall on bended knee *

Only though this tiny babe will
Comfort of the heart be known
I will cling to His guiding light that's
Where His grace is shown to me
Let Him hold me, let Him mold me
Let Him make me whole again
Let Him hold me, let Him mold me,
Let Him make me whole again

The house is trimmed with fresh greenery and lights
And the sparkle shines as years gone by
In the distance the church bells ring
With the carolers I start to sing
About the joy this little Christ child brings

Tonight find your comfort from a manger
While angels sing a sweet lullaby
Yonder shines His star of hope
So go and cling to it's light
Find you comfort from a manger tonight
