    Story Behind the Song
Chris got us into Reggae. Everything's fundamental, breaking down each instrumental part into its own solid, simple rhythm.

Each simple instrumental part then locks together into a main theme. Like a well built engine, the parts syncopate together.

We wanted to try a reggae stle, and were really psyched when Ripehillside Grove came together.

Chris wanted the song to be a description of heaven on earth, a physical, spiritual experience.

    Lyrics
    Are we the same
    As we used to be
    As we used to be
    We were never afraid

    Oh the days
    Of lying and running away
    In the Hillside Mango Grove
You could find us in the shade

    When the fruit was ripe
We had envisioned and seen the throne
With our hands we used to play
Now we work them to their bones

    Hear what I say
    Enough of that old way
There must be a better way
For us to build our homes

The mighty winds of the storm
    Have swept us all astray
    We toil for tomorrow
    To fulfill the prophecy

    Said right the love
    Will rain down from above
    And there we will stay
    And sing until the day

    Hear me up on this
    High rock top
    Singing to the heavens
    Before they take me home

    Now and again
    Hot as fire striking down
    In the desert sun
My eyes play tricks on me

    My lord is the ocean
My longtime friend is waiting there
And will say who has the key
    Sharing a can of variety

I will search the days for you
To find you on the ground
    There will be a
    Ramification someday

    Say please lead me
    To the right road
So I might find the ripe grove
    As I come of age

    Hear me up on this
    High rock top
    Singing to the heavens
    Before they take me home

Speak and play rhythms with me
    Forever down by the sea
    Released and unfettered
    Free for eternity

    Hold on forever no doubt
Time will tell for now I shout
    Pray to be listended to
    and hope peacefully

    All of my good life
I've been waiting here for you
    Yes I now know
    Exactly what to do
