    Story Behind the Song
This is the story of a homeless man, and showing you how he sees life on his terms. In his mind the city block where he lives belongs to him, and as he reflects on the past, he sees it link to the present. He looks to the city skies, and the gargoyles for protection and security of memory. Written by Eric Meyer and James Glover accoustically while relaxing in the band house on Capital View Ave., Kensington Maryland. It was recorded here in the summer of 1995 in New Jersey, after the band had broken up. This was done in only a couple of takes, and James had recently discovered the harmonica, and played on the track after only a few months of learning. It is performed here accoustic with Chris Wall on Bass, and bongos, James on harmonica and vocals and Eric on guitar, Matt the engineer lent his skills on guitar overlay.

    Lyrics
    Dirty Sunrise on the way
Street cleaner come and make my day
Give me something to pray for
Snake man's fantasies, who could ask for more
    Concrete Living, oh hell
    I'm a lonely man tonight,
    The gargoyles allright, maybe tonight

    Apple core tell me more
    who's your friend l'amore
    Fire ringer, Street singer
    linger for a drink l'amore
    well old healer who sayer,
    makes me think l'amore
got an old whore show me more
makes me drink, me sink l'amore

    Violent deamons, who is screamin'
When memories holding onto you and life was so cruel, well who gives a damn anyway
When the taste was as sweet as yesterday
    But still the apple's gone
and the core is left to stay,
the apple's gone and the core is left to stay

you got to hold that door, you've got to
catch up to the gate that's closing in
the gate is closing in ....

Peanut lore hold the floor tell me silence
    that old hell wedding bells
    rang for me l'amore
    violent deeds screem with me
    make me think my lord
golden seed be with me and
squeeze the tree the tree l'amore
