	A potent song about letting go that was the only independently released song Z95.3 in Vancouver has added in a year and got 8 solid weeks of radio play. Sparse arrangement and intense dynamics put Laura Doyle’s powerful vocals front and center.

	Story Behind the Song This is the second song Sean and I ever wrote together and the interesting thing is we wrote it about our ex’s. It was something he already had the music for but the melody and lyrical content was reworked extensively. At the time, I was still trying to unremember a certain music producer/keyboardist I had fallen for and was able to explore the cycle of letting go of someone I had some major attachment to. It strikes me now that the lyrics also fit many of my feelings about my father. This track has been incredibly healing for both me and tons of people who have met me or emailed their stories. Recording the grand piano was a fluke. We had a gig come into a studio Sean was working at in the summer of 2000 that got canceled. The owner came to us and said there was a freshly tuned piano around for the day if we had anything we wanted to record. We didn’t even have the lyrics yet. Sean did the whole song in one take with one small punch in. We joke that Let You go has it’s own angel since it was born by chance, licensed by a national TV show a week after it was finished and won the regional part of the National Songwriting competition. The lads at Banana Tunes (they write songs for lots of big names) have predicted that this is the song that will break me as a new artist. We’ll see...
