Story Behind the Song
"Still Not Makin Love" was written in the Hollywood hills. On a series of nights home alone, a gorgeous display of twinkling lights and 707's on their way to someplace even better provided inspiration. Orange blossoms perfumed the lightly smogged air; the bird in question was a mockingbird. And was my luck really as bad as this song says? No, hardly ever.
Lyrics
STILL NOT MAKING LOVE
KAJSA OHMAN
The evening is passing us by,
Weve watched the moon roll across the sky
And were still not making love
Weve talked religion and philosophy
Run out of beer and wine and herbal tea
And were still not making love
I guess theres just one way
I gotta get on my knees and say:
I wanna make love to you; let me show you the way
Oooo little evening bird
The foolish things youve heard
While we sit here, not making love.
How very true whatever you just said
Wed better smoke another cigarette
So we can sit here, not making love
I guess theres just one way
I guess theres just,
I guess theres really just one way, ya
I gotta get on my knees and say:
Let me show you the way
Wondering how youd answer,
I read behind your eyes
Maybe Im not your day dream lover
But maybe youd be surprised,
If youd give me a chance to try
Time to say goodbye
Oh, my god, why am I so shy
When it comes to making love?
The musics playing, do you wanna dance?
Its now or never, gotta take the chance
If we want to be making love
I guess theres just one way
I guess theres just,
I guess theres really just one way, yeah
I gotta get on my knees and say:
Let me show you the way
I guess theres just one way
I guess theres just,
I guess theres really, really just one way, yes!
I gotta get on my knees and say:
Oh, I gotta get on my knees and say:
Let me show you the way (repeat)
