The opening track to our new album, "Windows to the World." A fast paced driving hard rock song incorporating a classical interlude written about these idiotic warmongers throughout the world.

    Story Behind the Song
This is one of the last songs we recorded for "Windows to the World." We felt we needed a fast paced opener for the album and Colleen Locklear, (Yes, she's Heather's sister), had written some lyrics which were originally going to be used for the song that became "Away From Harm." The subject is something that is close to the bands heart so it was decided to use them for the new track. Stuart had come up with the basic riff and verse so the band jammed around with it for a while to knock it into shape. The Uilleann Pipes that start off the song were played by Patrick D'arcy.

"Windows to the World" was produced by Howard Leese from Heart and was recorded in The Wine Cellar, the bands recording studio in Woodland Hills, California. They used the Emu "Paris" system, Avalon and Oram mic pre's and Audio Technica microphones.

    Lyrics
    Dogs Of War

Dig up the hatchet and take to the field
Follow the madman, leave nothing concealed
Morning breaks on a new black dawn
Only to find, you've fallen for the con
Fields of orphans, fields of shame
Missiles screaming in to steal their loved ones slowly
In the name of right or wrong
    They burn their families down
All for religion, God is lonely

    They're gonna pay
    The world is on fire
    Damn those Dogs of War
    The planet's on fire

Fields of ruin, fields of despair
A bitter sight in memory's stare
    Mountains rising of the slain
Forever twisting the knife of blame
Murder the kingdom for the glory of the crown
A river of blood moving oh so slowly
In the name of right or wrong
    They watch their country bleed
God damn religion, God's still lonely

    They'd better pay
    The world is on fire
    Damn those Dogs of War
    The planet's on fire
