Story Behind the Song
Paul(in Phil.3:13-14)calls us to forget our past,'what lies behind' and reach forward to the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Jesus is not only our Savior, but He is our example as well. 1John1:6" the one who says he abides in Him ought himself to walk in the same manner as He walked." Some of the key elements of Jesus walk were:1-Quiet time seeking the face of the Father. 2-Ministering/showing love and compassion to those in need(which includes signs, miracles, and healings).3-Intense discipleship.4-Preaching/teaching the word. If we are going to call ourselves Christians, which means the Christ-like, then we had better display His character. Otherwise 1John1:4 calls us a liar, and says the truth is not in us. But, we know that the Spirit Himself helps us in our weakness(Rom.8:26-30), and we know that God has predestined us to be conformed to the image of Christ. Our destiny is righteousness, the character of Christ! God is full of mercy and lovingkindness, and His love leads/draws us on towards Him. I'm going to run, climb, whatever it takes to know Him more!
