Story Behind the Song
PALE
by angelo ©gianni
I opened the door
and it was beautiful
after so long.
I strolled out into you,
stepping like a brainwashed soldier.
And I stopped to smell the flowers
I did.
taking the time,
the energy,
the interest.
Those moments swirl around me
like a fall wind devil
and the more I study something
to know beauty,
the more overwhelmed I become.
And the more I study something
to know beauty,
the more flaws I find
till they loom huge and ugly
in the foreground.
And soon
what started out as beauty
becomes a frightening fun house,
a room of mirrors
relaying vivid distortions
and magnified truth.
And all the characters of Fellini
come to life
to sing a circus song.
And soon
its all too much
till four walls and a closed door
are beauty enough.
Lyrics
Pale the Bright Sun
©gianni
I can stand in a crowd
put my arms around everyone
I can hear your story/and it makes me believe
that this is wonderful
I can run through the landscape
and breathe till I'm full
I can feel till I'm dizzy
I can smile till I cry
'cause this is wonderful
Can you feel this?
I want you to feel this.
Will I always feel this,
I hope so.
gonna chain this world
gonna hold back the time
gonna pale that bright sun
gonna make that sun blind
'cause this is wonderful
gonna learn your lesson
gonna eat up your day
gonna soak in depression
gonna kneel down and say
that this is wonderful
and what it is, is I
I see it all to wide.
and what it is, is it
it stands here by my side.
and what it is, is it
it comes so straight and bright
too fast and clear
and I
I don't know anyone
it's all the same when you come around and crawl my walls
This is the end now
this is the end now.
