A depression, but not necessarily depressing, love ballad. Ethereal, of course, but definitely Pete's most poignant and haunting melody. |

Story Behind the Song
This song was a christmas present for my former girlfriend, Lori. It was written about what we used to do, on Saturdays. This song was prompted by extreme separation anxiety... at the time, she was in San Francisco and I was in San Diego... I am happy to say she is now my beloved wife. Let's just belittle the fact that Ralph's upstairs neighbor was pounding on her floor (Ralph's ceiling), trying to get us to stop remixing it so much. So try to forgive the sub-par mix.
Lyrics
Pop Tarts and Wine
If I had never seen your eyes
I’d think that this world was just charade
Now I try to close my mind
Visions of you still haunt my brain
Pop Tarts and Wine
On a Saturday
If I had never felt your touch
I’d never known there could be so much
I dream of you on sleepless nights
Closing my heart, can’t seem to close it tight
Is this really happening?
Is this really happening?
Is this really happening…
To Us?
The world passed away
Naked we stood in the light
He said to take your hand
Forever in Love
Forever in Love
Pop Tarts and Wine
On a Saturday
