Story Behind the Song
"Well, it was really my first experiment. The idea is simple: 1. pick three different bass keys, 2. find a few notes that when repeated, stay in tune with the bass keys
3. now, move the bass thru its paces, and repeat the other tones...instant song!" - Ron on developing the music
"They say that if you give a monkey a typewriter and let him bang on it for all eternity, he will eventually type out the entire King James version of the Bible. I was the monkey, and working as a Security Policeman in the Air Force sure fucking seemed like an eternity. I just wrote and wrote and wrote. Some of the stuff rhymed.
One of those things was "Lips So Red." Ron developed the main instrumental feel for the song as I remember." - Aaron on developing the lyrics
Lyrics
Lips so hot
and lips so red
But oh, the things
those lips have said
Lips so hot
and lips so red
But oh, the things
those lips have said
The truth can be worse
than a lie
This ain't the first time
you've said the lines
I fear this is one of those times
So close you mouth and put your lips on mine
Another chance, just please one more break
Don't know how much more I can take
