Story Behind the Song
This is the opening number of "Bisperas ng Pasko",the first musical that I ever written way back in 1995. The libretto was written by Edna mae Landicho but it is actually a Filipino adaptation of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol".
This opening number is a market scene on the night before christmas - people celebrating in the streets, getting ready for christmas, people singing about their hopes and dreams. There are four main soloists who are actually the market vendors selling balloons, chestnuts, chicken and fruits.
This remix has been recorded with friends from the UP Concert Chorus, some who were also members of the original cast. Many thanks to them!
The MIDI orchestra, which was also re-arranged, has been created with a Roland XP-30 and Cakewalk Pro Audio.
