Story Behind the Song
Back in 91 I was doing a lot of writing for a bunch of artist. In the down time I would sit around play with different grooves and new sounds to see what technology I hadn't had time to discover within my gear. Not that this song reflects any brilliance in the programing area, but that's how I came up with the groove. I had been in this relationship that wasn't going all that great. She turned out to be more of a gold digger than I was aware of. In her attempts to manipulate and pull me into her web,I came to this conclusion, "I can't give you anything but love." Well, needless to say, it didn't go over to well and I stayed in the relationship for sometime longer. But the point , I guess, is that I got these lyrics out of all that madness. I'd also wanted to write a song called "Anything". I thought it would be such a relief to have something to play in responce to that always annoying demand,"Play anything!" So I've been saving it for my own album and this is the demo I put together last week. I've also always wanted to use a Vocoder in a song and so I did.Yeah, well, enough about that, enjoy it.
