A few of us are generous enough to let it outside and shine for all of the world to see, but most of us - whether it's a conscious effort or not - just mask it with layers upon layers of fabricated delusions of our own making. But sooner or later, we realize truth cannot be hidden forever, and once it is unveiled, the battle begins...

	Story Behind the Song "Believe it or not, the general framework for this beast of a song was written in one night. It was one of our first practices, and I was introducing my new (at the time)Roland JP8000 to the band. As I was setting up my rig, I did a quick sound check by playing the patch it defaults to when I power it on - the sweeping arpeggiator you hear towards the beginning of the song. Jarrod just started playing along with his guitar, and before we knew it, we had a song. There you have it - songwriting in its crudest form." - Joel
