Story Behind the Song
My everloving spouse wrote this while deep in the childcare of our three children. Her hunger for God has always been great, and the much interrupted life of a young Mother was much evident in the song
Lyrics
WEARY SONG OF PRAISE
My Kitchen's a mess,
my life is likewise.
The baby's finally asleep
but he'll be up again too soon, so soon
So in this quiet time,
a quarter till midnight
I dream of lying asleep
but I can't keep
my heart from finding you
'Cause I've missed you all day long,
so here's my weary song of praise to You.
I love you Lord,
You're my joy and you're my life
you're my peace,
and you will be my rest tonight
I look around the room and see the chaos.
But I'm to tired to move or be uptight
or be up at all tonight.
Yet when I reflect on all you've given,
I want to thank you once more
at least before the sleep takes hold of me.
'cause I've missed you all day long,
so here's my weary song of praise to you.
I love you Lord.
You're my joy and You're my life
you're my peace,
and you will be my rest tonight
You're my joy and You're my life
you're my peace,
and you will be my rest tonight
