	The Tempermental Plains is an ambient tour through a plains type life and temperment, plus its done through a plain music structure. The titles are actually a reflection of that piece.

	Story Behind the Song Trudging seems a somewhat proper title at this time in our lives 9-14-01. Originally intended as a piece that unglorifies time itself as we all seem to trudge along at times. Trudging seems to have been one of the few pieces I have that has recieved good play from the very beginning. Who would of thunk? Trudging does two things that I gave my all trying to do with Empty Structures. It throws tweaked electronics with pure music. I think maybe the twisted synthesizer played all the way through might be the reason for Trudging's success. This is the first review in which I have discussed Equipment.I have done 10 reviews now. When I listen to music, 90% of the time its contemporary classical, ergo I am attracted to notation and note clusters- One of my favorite is the 2 minor, 1 major hold down. Before all this was my early attraction to electronic music, specifically early Tangerine Dream and Brian Eno. I believe Tangerine Dream's RUBYCON to be one of the greatest pieces of what I consider music of all time. Having said all that as a very aggressive and misbehaving drummer early on I had a deep desire to explore sound itself and its possibilities and possibilities in regards to combining sound with true music. From the first synthesizer- A CAT OCTAVE- came the possibility to tweak sound. I have been doing this ever since and sometimes very mistakingly. The Star if you will of Trudging is the Waldorf Microwave EXT. I have spent more time tweaking sound-Listen to anything on Empty Structures-Than I have composing. Ambient music is not a cop out form of music, it can be very difficult and exhaustive. I hope people begin to realize this. We don't just hold down a note and call it beautiful. All ambient composers want to translate a photograph via sound and or music that will stick in the mind and alter in time, thus creating a somewhat timeless piece. We all want this. Of course all our minds are different, which gives us all such a beautiful array of ambient musical expression. I want to be multi-functional in my musical expression most of the time-I want dreams within the dreams. There is always so much more there than what the listener hears with all ambient composers. Trudging is not a complicated piece, but it has been given good spice with combining tweaked electronics with simple music. Thank You all who have listened to Trudging, and please know I am trying to do a multi-functional job of explaining my music and my thoughts. I have now done 11 Reviews. SPM 9-14-01
