Story Behind the Song
This song was based on a poem that my first love wrote for me when long distance
became involved in the relationship. It was absolute torture. Around the time
when I was recording the CD however, my Grandma became very ill and passed away
before she could hear the new CD, which was hard, with her being one of my
biggest fans. I then decided to name the CD "Miles Away" and dedicate to her.
It took on another meaning for me.
Lyrics
(verse) I leave the dimly lighted house and step onto the porch. Across the
yard to find, find our favorite tree. Sitting amidst the roots. The cool rough
bark, against my back and I settle down to spend some time with you, but tell me
why are you (chorus) Miles away, why are you, miles away? You too are staring at those stars from miles away. (verse) Up above they are, twinkling. Ever burning bright. Stars of my universe, right within our sight, yeah but you're still (chorus same as above)(verse) From my heart to the stars and to you. I send my love. My thoughts and my dreams, when I can't call and a letter is just too long. There is nothing, nothing better at all, than an evening with the stars, those stars and you, tell me why are you...(chorus repeated twice)
