	Story Behind the Song This was a great song when it was written in 1992, and is even better now that it's been properly recorded. It's based on another one of my "terrific" nightmares (I really need professional help). It's was about literally drowning in a lake near my parents home (really in a sea of despair and depression) while the main cause of these feelings (ex-love) observes the whole event in horrible glee. Lyrics you watch me slip beneath the surface as the water pulls me down you're standing watching as if in sadness but on your face where is the frown? why do i see you smiling as i'm sinking in a spiral, round and round why don't i see you crying as i drown? the water cold as winter's night while you watch me die in your delight why are you amused and not in fright as i drown? drowning, farther and farther i go drowning and spiralling to the depths below drowning in memories of yesterday drowning the only way You watch me struggle in paradise as the water pulls me under you're standing distant and so pensive as the water pulls me down just as your tears turn to raindrops it's your laughter that becomes thunder why do i see you smiling as i drown?
