Story Behind the Song
This song started out as just a cool jam piece when Mark and Patrick were practicing one day, Mark kicking out the rhythmic, almost "tribal" beat, and Patrick adding on some cool guitar riffs. The nusic was written spontaneously like that, and due to its beat Mark noticed it sounded like "Tribal Sex." Patrick went about working on lyrics to the effect of a strung-out druggie who thinks he's the shit, coming onto a woman with some lyrics that could've fit a Zeppelin tune, but he ends up wallowing in his own shit by the end of the song, realizing how pathetic and lacking of any grasp on reality he truely is.
Or something.
This was recorded with one mic and two tracks -- one for music, and one for vocals. The band had no bass player at the time, so this recording may sound lacking; however, whatever the full sound is missing is made up for by the downright dirtiness and passion of this early recording.
