    Story Behind the Song
On October 25th, 1999 Sun went to Virgin Records in Time's Square to shop for DVD's for Mrs. Wilk's birthday present. On his way out of the store he heard the word 'listen' and immediately got out his small note pad and wrote the beginning of the first verse. He had to go pick up cat food so he walked down to 43rd Street. He noticed how extremely vibrantly blue the sky was and came to a dead halt in front of one of the New York Times' closed truck bays and channeled pretty much the rest of the song. Even snippets of melody started coming. The song was done by the time he got home except the bridge which he wrote the next day when he also finished the melody. This is an almost pure example of what Sun calls a channeled song. In this case, the verse lyrics seemed to come out of nowhere, they just flowed and pretty much didn't need any work once they came out of the pen. The melody seemed to have been partly channeled but it involved some crafting so it wasn't completely channeled. This happens often with lyrics but unfortunately it's not so easy with melodies! Sometimes the verses and choruses of songs will be channeled but the Spirits leave the bridge building up to Sun!

    Lyrics
I Wonder How I Know © Sun PK

The other day the sky was grey and brown
Made me wonder why God leaves us hangin' around
    To me it's so sad
Some people seem to think it's good to be bad
The grey and brown turned into want and need
And the walls appeared as I asked about the axis of greed
    That makes the world spin
Thought I heard someone say, "inquire within"
So I planned a little trip - it doesn't matter where
Here's an answer or two I found there

    Chorus:

    Y'only hear if you're listening
    Y'only see if you look
Y'only feel if you open your heart
    I wonder how I know
    I wonder how I know
Y'only swim if you take the plunge
    Y'only rise if you climb
Y'only climb if you stand up and walk
    I wonder how I know
    I wonder how I know

The other day the sky had turned to blue
Does everyone see colors the way that I do?
Or do each pair of eyes
See the world as differently as all of our lives?
This asking never seems to have an end
And though the answers come the questions come back again
    Will they ever cease?
Will the want and need ever find their release?
Each question brings another - 'til they all seem the same
Thought I heard some one say

    Chorus

    Bridge:

And I wonder who handed me the blindfold and scales
Just another character from a book of fairy tales who said

    Chorus
