Before it was recorded in Nashville, there was a 'home-grown' version of this Rock n Roll masterpiece: Eddie recorded this high quality demo around 1956. With slightly different arrangements, this version of "Do I Love You? - 'Deed I Do" had more of a raw rockabilly feel to it, as compared to Eddie's 'Echoes' version, that was later recorded in 1959. Amazingly, the run time ran identical to the released version. A rare track from the artist's private archives.

    Story Behind the Song
The professional mucical legacy of Eddie Sulik goes back to the early 1950s, as he was heavily influenced by Country and Western music. Eddie started his stage career doing covers of Hank Snow and Hank Williams', before finding a nitch in the rockabilly and pop arena. "Do I Love You" was actually one of Eddie's early compositions. On this version, Eddie sang and played guitar, demonstrating his trademark rhythm arrangements. On his later version, i.e. the Echoes' version, it was actually Hank Garland playing guitar. Critics have noted that this version (the demo version), stands right up to his latter version, in which he recorded at Bradley Studio in Nashville Tennessee. This song, and perhaps more so, this particular version, captures the essence of the rock n roll movement during its twilight years. Thanks to many 'pain-staking' hours by some of the finest audio restoration specialists in the U.S. and Canada, this unique archive has been rescued and preserved for future generations of music enthusiaststo embrace.

    Lyrics
    Doo-Ahh, I love you yes I do
    Doo-Ahh, I need you indeed I do
    Oh Baby, mmm-mmm Baby
    Doo-Ahh, I love you indeed I do

    Doo-ahh doo-ahh doo-ahh doo-ahh

Doo-Ahh, I love the way you smile

You ask me if I really care
To make-a believe is so unfair
I wish that I could make you see
Just what your doing to me
