Lyrics
Stones
by Larree
A strange man came from nowhere,
He said, "Here I am and I've got a surprise for you."
He told us of a world from which he came,
Where there was no hunger, and the people felt no pain.
He said we too could live forever,
We could all be kings and queens in a land of peace.
Where war and greed have been replaced by a desire,
To love, and to be free.
But the people wouldn't listen,
They called this man a fool,
They gathered up their stones and they said,
"You'd better leave this place."
"Keep your world 'cause I don't care,
I've got my own world high up there", he said.
"But to stay here is to surely die,
I'll give you eternal life", he said.
"All you've got to do is follow me, forget about your world,
"I know you'll see", he said,
"You'll see a world where no one's mad, and no one's sad,
And everyone's glad to be, so glad to be."
But the people wouldn't listen,
They called this man a fool,
They gathered up their stones and they said,
"You'd better leave this place."
An eagle will drop a tortoise on your head,
And medecine your soul, with a melody of death.
For all the lives you've lived you will be sacrificed,
So soon you will awake in your brand new life.
Still the people wouldn't listen,
They called this man a fool,
They gathered up their stones and they said,
"You'd better leave this place."
Then there was a flash of light,
When the flash went away,
The visitor was gone.
The frightened people asked each other if they knew,
If they knew what just went on.
It seemed like some strange kind of dream,
You know the kind,
Where you just don't know what it means.
This strange day they soon forgot,
There lives went on as planned,
Or so it seems...
