Story Behind the Song
This seems to be an affliction that many people are faced with. Alcohol can be a good time, but too much of it can destroy. Hopefully, all the "One-Eyes" out there will get it together before it's too late. Why do we keep them around? I don't know; it might have something to do with loyalty and dedication. Then again, maybe not. Heck, maybe it is just because of the amusement they provide...."bling-bling", eh?
Lyrics
You ever wonder what it's like to meet a leprechaun?
You might see one around the woods, before you know it, he's gone.
Well, I'm one of the lucky folk, I know one person'ly.
Tis nothing much, I'll even introduce ya if ya please.
I met him a few years ago right in this very land.
A bit short like me, pale as can be, we're just not very tanned.
But there's a difference t'ween myself and this small irish guy.
For when he drinks, he squints until you only see one eye.
Well, he'll bitch and fight
and he'll drink all night,
but he still remains one hell of a guy,
if times ever get tight
he'll be by your side,
he's a well-meaning leprechaun they call "One-Eye"
Now "One-Eye" is a bright young man, but still he just gets by.
He's actually quite impressive when he chooses to apply.
Too often, though, he goes and does, and doesn't stop to think.
His tragic flaw? Achilles' heel? -- A fondness for the drink.
He'll drink the beer and drink the stout, and drink the black-and-tan.
He'll drink Guiness in any form, he'll even lick the can.
I know not how exactly far he'll go to get the brew.
But he'll get plowed and flirt with all, prob'ly even come after you!
If yer ever in a fight
and shillelaghs fly,
You'll always want to have this lad near by,
He's got a heart of gold
and one hell of a right,
He's a well meaning leprechaun the call "One-Eye"
