My mom had been passed on for a little over a year. A lot of things still haunted me. I had a dream one night with four scenes. In the first scene I was shot at the mall with my family. The next I'm at a party at my friend Rick's where he becomes Buddha and I end up homeless on a train and freak out. I then saw my mom. The lyrics are written word for word with the dream. It was a powerful experience.

    Story Behind the Song
My mom had passed away a year before the song was written. I hadn't dealt with it properly yet. This dream was so real, like I lived it. My mom had visited me at the end of the dream. She was there. I woke up and felt my being changed. I looked outside in a daze. I saw nothing but the cold gray pavemnent melt into a sky of like color. I went right to the studio and wrote the song in a few hours. It just poured out of me.

    Lyrics
    Shots of fear ring in
I try to run from the gun before it pierces the skin
But my legs are weary running from the truth
    Time is standing still
I try to scream for help to see if anyone will - The crowd is hushed
Standing there as his whicked glare is
    Coming in for the kill
And in a moments notice I'm stricken from my youth

Why won't anybody call him out or strike him down Doesn't anyone believe in heroes anymore

On a Cold Grey Morning here
I try to face the world alone
    But I'm riddled in fear

As a chance my luck would bring
I found a friend with the wisdom of an age old thing - He said "Get you back on track"
So I was able to face the day be on my way
But I was nervous on that train
And all the passengers saw my pain
I tried to feign a smile but my sullen eyes just couldn't hide disdain
