Story Behind the Song
Each son of the cd is related to a chapter of the short story "Lost In Love":
11. The Final Showdown
Layla awoke to the smell of fresh coffee and eggs and bacon. She had a light headache and a taste on her tongue that didn't seem to be hers, but she was exceptionally awake. She found Charlie Strom cooking. "You used to work for Don Siegel, right?" she asked, attempting to start a conversation. Charlie turned around and grinned. "Yep, for him too." She found him to be much more sympathetic than yesterday. Somehow they had become friends. The front door opened and Phil entered. "Pretty bad weather out there but it's not all that bad for us. I checked things out a bit." During the night fog had risen, it was drizzling and it hadn't gotten quite light outside yet. "Well," Phil began to say, "we don't actually know how it goes on from here. We have this," he said, pointing at the .38 strapped around his shoulder, "But that won't help us against our friends in the white hoods. I thought you had brought something?" He looked at Layla. "I wouldn't know what. I don't have any luggage, I only arrived at the airport with this stupid handbag... hey! Maybe..." She reached into the handbag to get the weird plexiglass-thing. It now felt warm and suddenly began to glow with a blue-ish hue in the dark of the handbag. She took it out and looked at it. On one side the words "Dildo Dagger - Your Friend In Hard Times" were engraved. "Let me take a look," said Phil and reached for it. The glow became stronger and he let it go with a cry. "The damn thing burned my hand! It looks like that will be your weapon, Layla. You will need it. We can't hurt the hood-men with our weapons, but we can send them in your direction. There is one thing they do hate..." He took a pile of old Playboys and began ripping out the centerfolds one by one. He then proceeded to tape one of these each on Charlie's chest and back. Layla was decorated in the same fashion, as well as Phil's trench coat. "It's high time! Lets go!" With one foot Phil knocked open the door, looked left and right and slipped outside. "Come on!" The others followed him through the fog. They had left the path and were walking through the meadows. Around her only milky white fog. Dildo glowed much stronger now.
She felt good, almost euphoric. Charlie and Phil walked to the left and right of her. A figure began to appear in the fog, then another. They
were in front of them and it was hard to tell how many there were. Hood-men in white robes with a cross across the chest. Under the hood was only a dark shadow - no face. They had drawn gigantic swords and were slowly advancing.
With a loud cry Layla ran towards the first one, holding Dildo in front of her. She split him in half with one stroke and the empty robe fell to
the ground. Even though the being was silent, one could hear a wild scream. A scream beyond all audible frequencies. They were now trying to move to the sides, but hadn't thought of Phil and Charlie, who had in the meantime placed themselves on either side of the hood-men. As soon as one of them neared her and saw the Playboy pictures, it covered the shadow - where it's face should have been - with its hands and backed away. Layla was drunken with ecstasy. Blow after blow she dealt, covering the ground with white robes. Every time that she hit, she could feel a shudder go through her body.
As the last of the hood-men fell, the fog had begun to lighten up. Now it began to dissolve completely and even the robes were disappearing. Layla's weapon had stopped glowing. The clear plastic had become milky, began to crack and finally turned to dust. The winds swept it away before it reached the ground.
