Introduction to the tale of the Fall of Lebendia. The King meets the Wardancer...
    CD: Fall of Lebendia
Credits: Music and lyrics by The Wizard's Apprentice

    Lyrics
    Wardancer's Oath

    - Ah, good evening my friend! Some weather tonight.
    - Indeed! It's a chill that cuts through to the bone.
Perfect for some idle chatting by a warming fire.
    - So, you have a story for us tonight?
    - Well, I might, for a hot meal and some ale to go with.
    - Well, that could be arranged.

    - Let's see...

You may have heard some tales of a mysterious warlord in the south,
a man who put fear in the hearts of rulers and simple men alike
and who finally brought about the fall of Lebendia, a mighty kingdom.

He came to be known as The Wardancer,
merging the skills of a blademaster with the sourcery of a wizard
Rumours of his deeds have spread far and wide
and may even have found their way here.

Few people though, know the true story...

The Wardancer entered the court of the king
with a dangerous grace and expressionless face
He stopped in his stride a pace short of the throne
And the king broke the silence in a mocking tone

-So you come to me from a people I've slain
to beg mercy I hope, but you should have stayed
In any which case you will sing my praise
and swing in the breeze at the end of a rope

The Wardancer said -I've been told by the wise
that a crown wont help a pig to disguise
I know that it's true when I listen to you
A pityless man with a heart made of ice

He took out a head and raised it to show
-I met with the queen a few hours ago
I took her to bed and your children are dead
They lie in their chambers so say your goodbyes!

The king's pale face crumpled with hate,
he screamed for his guards but it was too late
He watched them die in a blink of the eye
as the Wardancer danced with his blades

The Wardancer turned and facing the king
    gave him a promise of death he would bring;
-I vow this to you and know it is true
I will kill all your offspring, alone will you grate

A woman you take to your mercy and bed
will die by my hand before you are wed
You'll live to regret the day when we met,
whoever you love will be dead.

The Wardancer left the court of the king
with a dangerous grace and expressionless face
