A duet with my dear girlfriend, Katy Shay. This song was originally performed by my old band, Megatron D.O.C., in loud, angry rock and roll fashion... this is the tea party version, I guess. It's also slightly less fleshed-out than the album version... |

Story Behind the Song
I wrote this song in high school because I was bored in psychology class...the line "I can hear you with my skin" came from a classmate talking about a theory somebody had told him about being able to hear through the skin. That struck me as really crazy. When I formed a rock and roll band with my friends Jon, Steve, and Alistair, we performed a pretty different version of this song, where I screamed my head off, and it was all power chords and such... it was a lot of fun. When I started working on Kitty Cat Pirate stuff, I decided I wanted to rework it, and have my lovely girlfriend Katy sing on it. It all worked out okay... though I still feel occasional pangs of dissatisfaction.
Lyrics
My face hurts, my head hurts
I can hear you with my skin
You get me so angry
This is the worst place that I've ever been
Chorus:
Nothing is simple
Nothing is simple
Nothing is simple except me
I've been up for several hours
But I've never been awake
Reference #47
There's another record to break
[repeat chorus]
[repeat chorus]
