Story Behind the Song
A couple of years ago I wanted to write some surf music. I've always liked the Ventures, the Surfaris, the Beach Boys, Jan and Dean, and so on. When I was 4 or 5 years old my mother used to take my sister and I and go listen to the Ventures practice out on the beach. So I grew up with this kind of music. When I wrote this song, it was in MIDI for my music page on the web (http://www.catalog.com/sft/bobf/music.html) but MIDI just doesn't do justice like a real Fender Stratocaster, made in the USA, with single-coil pickups and an original style tremolo bar. So I re-recorded the guitar parts [kept bass and drums with MIDI to make it easier] and MP3'd it, all on my PC. Surf's up, dude!
