	Story Behind the Song Daylight savings time had just struck again -leaving us all in the dark when we arrived home from work. I had been thinking about how the light and life of the four seasons parallels our lives. Instead of resenting that it was almost completely dark at four thirty , I sat with my guitar and wrote this song...though one verse had to be coaxed from a piano in New York a month later! Lyrics The shorter days have blackened my mood. Its dark when I get home the clock has turned the fool. I know what night can bring so I put off sleep. Thats when the emptiness comes to kill me. But everything I have is mine. And I can always count on time sweet time. Winters come and Im cold to the bone. Minds working overtime and my heart cant find its home. Memories arrive like uninvited guests. I cant take it when they come but when they leave I like it less. But everything I do is fine. And I can always count on time sweet time.
