Story Behind the Song
When I sat down to write this song in particular, I had been spending a lot of time with a friend of mine that had recently seperated from his wife. He and I talked alot about how "in this case" a woman can endure so much to remain with the man she is in love with, reguardless of the circumstances. He explained to me that with a little effort and a few less broken promises they could have made their relationship work. Once the trust, devotion, and willingness to protect a relationship is compromised, there is no turning back. Many women, and men in my opinion "loose site of the security and emotional bond" that comes from a true loving relationship. They are willing to commit hundreds of hours a month to their jobs and pastimes, and in some cases not a moment to the one person that realy counts - their partner. And as the words in this song describe the end of a relationship, I would like to believe that anyone who truly listens to the words would agree that it also opens your eyes to the reality that someone faces once the words, "When she said that it's over" are spoken.
