The original version of the song "Something" as written and recorded by ToddSo in 1995 on a 4 track before he was in the Crop Circles, when he lived in Northwestern California. It's Lo-Fi, so play it loud for the max effect. |
CD: None. I have tapes made of my alternate tunes and outtakes.
Label: My own
Credits: Todd Swanson plays all instruments, wrote all the lyrics, and all the music. Solo effort. |
Story Behind the Song
Boredom and a lot of rain. The lyrics mean that if you rest, the restless will trample you. The song was written when I lived in Berkeley, in the bay area of Northwestern California.I wrote this one in two days, one day for the music and lyrics, and another day to record it. I did it when it was very cold and raining like flood stage alert status; I was bored and it was impossible to do anything. I am including this alternate take because i only think it's fair to let people hear how much the song changed when the band rerecorded it, and I this is my favorite version because it has more "MOOD" to it. You decide, and please e-mail me. I am going to add a raw live recording of this song on a channel in this site that i am working on. Check it out now funk soul brothers. Coming soon to a channel near you, alternate outtakes and some live raw editions
Lyrics
Same as the song "Something" as rerecorded by the Crop Circles, except there are no offensive words and there is no "Ozzy" break.
