    Story Behind the Song
Written at a Unitarian retreat while retreating from scheduled activities. Though not terribly religious, the atmosphere of the retreat inspired some of the lyrics.

I recorded the song on my computer, playing acoustic guitar, Tacoma Papoose guitar, electric guitar, bass, drums, and cello and harpsichord via an electronic keyboard, as well as singing lead and harmony vocals.

    Lyrics
You think each day is a holiday
    But only for you.
You take off from our marriage
    With who-knows-whom.
At first I saw both red and green
    But now I feel blue
    'Cause Ive reached the conclusion
    That you rented a room.

    Why all this pussy footing?
Cat got your tongue? Cant breathe?
Ive put the collar on you.
Yes, its out of the bag.
The truths better to give than it is to deceive.

    You dont feel desperation
    Or need of a reprieve?
How can you act so smugly
Now youre caught? Dont you know
The truths better to give than it is to deceive?

Karma says youll pay up later
    For what you did before,
    So please remunerate me
    With a shut door
Once you are on the other side.
    Please enter no more.
At best you cheated on me
And at worst, youre a whore.

A space in Hell awaits you.
    Thats what I must believe
To get me past this misery.
    So, lest ye forget:
The truths better to give than it is to deceive.
