Story Behind the Song
The "Caught in a Jam" drum tracks and bass tracks were recorded at The Old Schoolhouse in Ann Arbor, Michigan. All of the guitars were then recorded at Downriver Sound Studios in Trenton, Michigan. It was recorded on 24 track-2 inch analogue tape, and the mixing console used is a rare Flickenger. It was seen in the Whoopie Goldberg video of "Jumpin Jack Flash", with Ron Wood of the Rolling Stones and Whoopie mixing on the console. Countless Motown legends recorded with this console, as it was purchased from United Sound Studios, in Detroit.
