A heavy metal tune that lyrically looks at the Pacific theater of World War II. Hard and fast!

    Story Behind the Song
I'm a history buff and one of my favorite areas of history is World War II Pacific theater. This song explores the ironies of the American and Japanese perspectives and how even though both sides tried to portray the other as being practically non-human they were so similar. This especially shows in the songs chorus towards the end where it is repeated once for each side. Notice there are two different riffs, one is used for the American perspective and the other for the Japanese. This song was written over the course of a couple of days with a few takes to get it the way I wanted it.

    Lyrics
    Verse 1 (American)
War time songs, "Mow the Japs Down"
Good Jap? The only good Jap is a dead one!
Less than human, the peril of the yellow race
Popular media potrays the Jap as an ape
Pre-war smug arrogance, prejudice masquerading as fact
The Jap was foolhardy and incompetant, combat skills out of whack

    Verse 2 (American)
After Pearl Harbor a 180 degree turn
Inside the Jap mind fanaticism burns
They might attempt a west coast attack
To prvent their help we'll relocate American Japs
The myth of the Japanese superman in the press
Admiral Halsey's racial abuses used to discredit

    Verse 3 (Japanese)
War against the barbarians of the west
We are morally superior than all the rest
Misguided dogs, reptiles, and other beasts
That is how to best describe the enemy
The Americans are nothing but brutes under the mask of humanity
Americans kill just to satisfy their own urges of brutality

    Verse 3 (Japanese)
The spirit of Yamoto, be victorious or perish
Less than human, the decadent megalomaniacal race
Our Fate's warning about the demonic beast
We'll die in honour bringing the enemy defeat
The rising sun crusading against the enemies of their mother
Our bayonets shall cleanse the world of the vile other

Chorus (first pass American, second pass Japanese)
The enemy's war is one of selfish desire for world conquest
Our war is a moral cause to create a New World Order
So that all nations can live in peace in their own sphere
War in unavoidable if we're going to save the world
This is not a race war, let's make that clear
Propoganda and destiny will prove us morally superior
