Grandmother always told me never to play with sharp objects. "Don't touch the flame or you'll get burned." Yeah, its kind of like that.

    Story Behind the Song
Don't really know why we did this one. I guess to express the folly of our human natures to grasp onto those things that do us the most harm, aye? Back and forth. Up and down. Its a bumpy road with lots of ruts.

    Lyrics
I've got a pocket knife, its grown a little rusty on the blade I guess it got a little too sharp, so I don't use it anymore It bears a crack along the handle from where I through it at the wall Just a fluke of human nature, you try to catch it when it falls We got a six-pack and we headed for a good time Up to the canyon where the river runs through Its like we never let on, like I don't really know why The way you look at me like...like I was some kind of fool And, I don't really know why I'm even willing to try And, its a little known lie that I don't fall and I don't cry I fall so far I faint I fall so hard it hurts when I finally crash You aren't some mistress with an I.Q., I'm not some doggy on a bone We just keep spinning in our circles like we have nowhere left to go You want a house out in the country but we ain't never going home You set your dreams up on a mantle, you set your feet upon a road And, I don't really know why I'm even willing to try And, it's a little known lie that I don't fall and I don't cry I fall so far I faint I fall so hard it hurts when I finally crash
