Story Behind the Song
This is the first song written for this project back in 1991. It utilizes a hybrid of the ancient Nigerian, Afro/Cuban Yoruba rhythms in a modern arrangement using intricate harmonies, a weird bass line, and a "poppish" melody. I have always loved Weather Report, the Brecker Brothers, Return To Forever, Miles Davis, the Yellow Jackets, and adventurous music that moves forward and takes chances.
