	Story Behind the Song The lyric for this song was cowritten with my good friend Alan Crockett at his place up in the wilds of Northern California. We were fix- ing the waterline and looking at the little "oases" formed where the pipe broke, and much pathetic cowpoke caterwauling ensued, develop- ed around this theme. Lyrics Well, I've been wandering round In circles in the desert while the sun beats down On the brown and blasted earth. High in the sky, where buzzards are circling with a hungry eye, and a patience that is wearing me down. It's a hard and bitter road that has led me to this place. A lonely life, I've made many mistakes I'd trade the whole thing for a Single drink right now.
