	Story Behind the Song His mind races during a brief moment of inactivity during the pre-launch checklist.  Then, back to the task - commanding the spacecraft into Earth orbit.  As the countdown proceeds, the hours of preparation and training are his best company and keep his mind occupied. These personal companions help prevent fear from taking over. As the engines are ignited and the craft shakes violently, he knows that after all this time his destination is literally only minutes away.  As the roar of the engines abruptly stop and the violent motion of the ship has smoothed out, he hears the control voice in his helmet "you should now be in a zero gravity environment." He releases his safety restraints and feels himself floating out of the chair.  At that moment, he knows all the effort and his battle with his own fears have led him to this amazing place.  He smiles with an ear to ear grin and replies "zero-g, roger." Then, he goes silent and peacefully observes the beautiful Earth below and the incredibly bright stars beyond.
