	Story Behind the Song The cold and icy sky is perfectly blue and crystal clear. The trees are covered in snow and transparent ice. The water is completely frozen solid. Everything glistens and shines in the sunlight with an overwhelming glare. The sunlight is a beautiful companion, yet it is so, so cold. Circling above is a hawk, waiting. Finally below, a rabbit emerges to feed. The dance begins. The life and death struggle to survive the harsh winter is played out moment by moment, hour by hour and day by day. All the creatures know what is at stake here - the winter keeps its icy grip on the countryside and won't be letting go for months. And every creature knows exactly what it must do - by cunning and speed or by a swift and clean kill - to survive. The Winterseen is both a wondrous and a harsh stage.
