Story Behind the Song
The song's humour is the result of an absolutely fabulous bout of silliness between the Barber brothers in their home studio, and this happy pop anthem reared it's catchy head. The song was a joke, really, until Ken Stringfellow, who was producing the CD, heard our demo and immediately knew he wanted it on the CD.
The song both glorifies and makes fun of the rock star in us all. The times we sang along, or belted the lyrics in the shower or driving in our car. Rock and roll shouldn't take itself so seriously, after all, it's only rock and roll. But is it??
Lyrics
Everybody's a rock star tonight
Everybody's a rock star tonight
There's nobody in the audience because everybody's on the stage
Tonight everybody's a rock star, baby, doesn't matter what your age
Because it's about time, it's about time, it's about time, you realize, you're a star, you're a star, yes you are
