Story Behind the Song
This was the first song I wrote for my "solo" outing: "Baby Jenkins" in May 2000. It is a two-part track, the first:"Planet Shine" is a celebration of our planet and the idea came from a gardening product called: "Plant Shine" which I spotted one day in my bass-player's apartment in NYC! The second part:"Lonely Road" tells of leaving a situation behind and moving on to pastures new, yet again. It all came together quite quickly and was recorded in 1-2 takes in our basement home studio in New York City.
Lyrics
Planet shine - stars above,
Looking up - see my love.
There's a place - beyond the blue,
Where we belong - where we all grew.
To be fine and to be clear,
In a time away from fear.
Walking down, walking down that lonely road.
I'm gone, I'm gone, I'm gone away.
Can't turn around, turn and see what's left behind.
I'm gone, I'm gone, I'm gone away.
