	Story Behind the Song The title comes from a time where I had taken a "hiatus" from composing to study counterpoint. This selection is the 4th effort after returning to composing (thus Hiatus IV). The entire piece is built out the repeating bass line. Listen closely as the bass line figure is used in augmentation, diminution, and in an exciting odd-meter canon in the Coda.
