    Story Behind the Song
The author feels the notion that the forbidden fruit was an apple does not ring true, for an apple can be completely consumed, core and all without choking, try the same thing with a very large plum and it is far more a "Forbidden fruit". This song took 2 days to write while the author was in a religious trance brought on by plum wine and udo drum playing.

    Lyrics
    The Plum

Look around pretty baby at all that we've got
Look around pretty baby at all that we've got
Look around pretty baby at all that we've got
We got the lion and the lamb laying in the same spot.
It's a good day in the Garden of Eden.

God made Eve from the rib of a man
God made Adam from the dust and sand
He let them run naked in
    His paradise
Then he said you two better play nice

You can do any thing you want to do
But that tree of life is not for you
You can eat anything that you can chew
But don't eat the plum, if you do.
You'll have a bad day in the Garden of Eden.

But the snake was hiding under cover in the leaves
And had a conversation with Eve
He talked her into eating that
    Forbidden plum
And then he said you ought to take your husband some

He was hungry and he thought she understood
And she brought that plum from out of the woods
He said bring a little more baby if you could
Cause that last bite of fruit sure tasted good.
And the sun was going down in the Garden of Eden.

God came walkin just before night
Adam and Eve went sneekin out of sight
And when he caught them down and dirty
    Under that tree
Adam said Lord have mercy on me

He said I'm sorry but let me try to explain
This woman done gone and messed up my brain
God said Adam now I've heard it all
And he threw them both over the garden wall
And he locked the gate to the Garden of Eden

Now every time you find your hair turning grey
And every time your children run away
And every time you wonder why your life is hell
The reason is written in the Biblical

And now the whole world's got blues you better believe
And the snake crawls on his belly through the leaves
And the world is full of liars and thieves
It's all on account of a girl named Eve.
It's a bad day outside the Garden of Eden.
