CD: Barefoot In The Rain   Label: Independent
Credits: Music: Brian Holwerda Lyrics: Jeff Johnston Produced by Brian Holwerda & Jeff Johnston

    Story Behind the Song
This is from the original cassette master four-track demo recording done in Brian's bedroom October of '95. Mastered to DAT with a bit of reverb splashed across it.

    Lyrics
I dont believe the stars were scattered,
But carefully arranged by your hand.
    I dont believe in coincidence,
    But everything according to plan.

If we could see through your eyes awhile,
Through the tears we hold at bay,
I know wed find its all in your hand,
And we have no grounds for dismay.

    Everything has its purpose
    On earth.
    Everything that affects us
    Has worth.
If we could just learn to trust you
    With our hearts,
    We would understand just
    How great thou art.

I do believe in learning from mistakes
So we wont repeat them again.
I do believe well see your intent,
Though we may not know when.

Though it may take till Christ returns at last
Till we understand the trip to hell and back,
Someday well know, though were so ungrateful now,
When you carry us and compensate for lack.

    Everything has its purpose
    On earth.
    Everything that affects us
    Has worth.
If we could just learn to trust you
    With our hearts,
    We would understand just
    How great thou art.
