Story Behind the Song
This song was one of the first songs pitched to by my producer/promoter. The first time I heard it I felt that it was written for me. It said everything that I personally felt about love and it's real meaning. This song makes a person look within and sends a message. It was my first single released to radio and my first #1. I knew that it would be the title cut for my album the moment I recorded it.
Lyrics
You're from the city, I'm a small town girl.
There's no denying we're from different worlds.
Where you come from things change a mile a minute and love don't last just because you're in it.
(Chorus)
But where I'm coming from, love's a cool drink of water, drawn from a bottomless well.
When push comes to shove, hearts pull together and ties that bind have always held. Lovers say what they mean, mean what they say, and when its all said and done. Love lasts forever, where I'm coming from.
You're used to parties, the neon lights. But I'd choose a porch swing on starry nights. Where you come from, is love a gift to keep? Is it a river, powerful and deep. Because,
(Chorus)
Where I'm coming from love's a cool drink of water, drawn from a bottomless well. When push comes to shove, hearts pull together and ties that bind have always held. Lovers say what they mean, mean what they say and when its all said and done, love lasts forever where I'm coming from.
Oh, love lasts forever, where I'm coming from.
