Story Behind the Song
Daedalus, builder of the labrynth which contains the monsterous Minotaur, is imprisoned on the isle of Crete with his son Icarus. They escape on wings which Daedalus has constructed. Icarus disobeys his father's instructions and flies towards the sun until his wings fail. He falls into the sea which then bears his name.
