Slow Rock Song |

Story Behind the Song
This song was written fairly quickly due to some solid inspiration. During the course of playing with my band, we are always meeting new people. These are generally people who come to see the band on a regular basis, and we get to know them and become friends. So the Summer before last we met a lot of new people, as we were starting to break into new markets. One day, we all got an e-mail from a person who wanted to thank us for being there for her sister, during the family's hard times, especially since she was away at school. It turns out that her and her sister had recently lost a brother to a cancer. Although we knew nothing of this, her sister thought that we did. Evidently, the new friends that her sister had met at our shows, and the fun she would have seeing the band, let her put away her grief for short periods of time. We were all very touched by this e-mail and it even helped us to clear our heads, and realize that what we do is not only for ourselves, but for people who may not even know.
This song was inspired by that e-mail and friendships that I have developed with all of the people involved.
While I never knew all of the details of the illness or of the family relationships, I felt that I could write a song that would perhaps convey a feeling of peace to my friend and her family. In addition to my performance, I had her best friend add some harmony vocals to express our support and friendship.
The song was again recorded at home with myself on vocals, guitars, keyboards and bass; Matt Chrisky on drums; and Hollie Rostosky on harmony vocals.
