	Story Behind the Song Written in North Carolina, this song is about the hate the Greeks must've felt towards the invading Persians during the early times of Alexander the Great (circa 400 BC), as they defended their invasion attempts. Receiving an alarming message of a Persian amphibious landing near Marathon, the Greek Army rushed from Athens and defeated the Persians in the battle at Marathon, then marched 26 miles back home to fight again the next day & defend their homeland against another Persian attempt.
