Story Behind the Song
"Party 3k" is the story of a guy trying to party and meet girls in a post-apocalyptic/"1984" type of society. There is an ongoing battle between the right-wing police and the rebel protestors. The narrator of the song, however, is just trying to get drunk and get laid. The music has kind of a psychedelic ska feel. It's definitely a party song, but there are other elements in there as well.
Lyrics
Party 3k
Two bucks a pop
And I just can't stop,
If I get any higher
I ain't never gonna drop.
Take me back to the shop,
Clean me up with your mop,
Tweak my machinery
And put me back on top.
'Cause I don't need the weekend
To get me freakin',
Gonna get the windows shakin'
And the bedsprings creakin'.
Could you be the beacon
That I have been seekin'?
Lead me to your sands,
'Cause my ocean's leakin'.
Chorus:
I got a feelin' tonight is gonna be just fine.
No need to look for a meanin' or search for a sign.
At the ends of the earth, you know, we drink and we dine.
'Cause this is the place
And now is the only time.
Branches and roots,
Get your feet in cahoots
With your shoes and your socks
And your birthday suits.
Well, it comes and it shoots
And it robs and it loots
And it wears long jackets
And rubber boots.
But, it can't stop the dance
Or the quick circumstance
Or the crease of your pants
Or your looks of romance.
I fell into a trance
In the throes of your glance
Until awakened by police
And protestors rants, but
Chorus
Secret thieves in frequent scenes
Steal your friends and read your dreams.
Ignore your pleas, ignore your screams,
Uncover lives in under-cover scenes, but
Chorus
Now is the only time.
