    Story Behind the Song
My friend Kurt started playing a lick and we worked on turning it into a song for a couple of hours. He taught me the lick just before I left and it took me weeks to get right. A year later, Scott and I reworked it. I didnt want Summer to be on the cd, but I changed the lyrics and started liking it. The guitars sound great together on this one.

    Lyrics
Redwood high just to see you smile
Sometimes think it not worth the while
Now you're here I'm so beguiled in this
Time we share and the fire
Crackles as we breathe on it
    To resurrect a glow

I hid my head to keep some words in hiding
    Pushed away but waiting nearby
    Hoping for a moment's pause
Emotion watch it move to fire as it
Crackles as we breathe on it
    To resurrect a glow
I kiss you long goodnight as you
    Close your eyes

Hey can I really be here by your side
Or shaking time away till we move
    Close again

    You and me sipping coffee
    Morning finds us here again
    Feeling alright like the movies
You step outside to take it in
Leaning on the picket fence watch the
Horizontal sunlight on your lips it shakes From beauty found

    I know all these changes
They're close to me, they're on to you still
Most of the time I'm fine
    Alone in my own head
I might share this room with you
    reason to rearrange
    Hemingway and John Wayne

Hey can I really be here by your side
Or shaking time away till we move
    Close again

Sprawled out in outback nowhere when
    Evening come hard and heavy
    Anticipation
As this beating heart were in the spotlight
    Let nature be the judge
If this thing we have is true
I don't want to wait know what to do

    I know all these changes
They're close to me, they're on to you still
Most of the time I'm fine
    Alone in my own head
I might share this room with you
    Reason to rearrange
    Hemingway and John Wayne
