Story Behind the Song
Our first 'slow song', "carry me through the storm" was intended to reflect christmas spirit to fit with the Christmas theme of our first EP, "Just Another Day". The chorus begins in the minor but resolves back to the major key which is established at the beginning. This was also recorded in the sessions at Telford, 1998.
Lyrics
V1
It's cold outside, but your heart keeps me warm,
As long as I am in your arms, no one can do me no harm.
The fire is burning bright, and the snow is piling high,
Everything is perfect, this is a very best night.
Chorus
Carry me through the storm, let your love guide the way,
When we reach our destination, that is where we'll stay!
Carry me through the storm, let your love guide the way,
When we reach our destination, that is where we'll stay!
V2
The kids are all asleep, and they're dreaming happy things,
Opening the presents that good old Santa brings.
Mince pies and wine, fill the aroma of the night,
Everything is perfect, this is a very best night!
V3
We wake up on christmas morn and hear tip-toes on the hall,
Screams and shouts of joy, downstairs they're having a ball!
Coral singers outside spread good will to all me,
Everyone's so happy, it's christmas time again!
